ABOUT
b. 1990, American painter and sculptor
STATEMENT
My paintings and sculptures are the practice of imbedding an object with my hopes and fears, to then release into the world. The paintings start as small sculptures, fashioned from fabric or clay, that tell a small personal story in their shapes and rhythms, color and mood. I then pose and light my sculptures, painting them as quiet portraits. Anxiety, loss, fertility, pain, joy, acceptance, jealousy, shame are all snippets of my experience that I dedicate to the portraits. Each one a repetitive meditation on my experience as a human and soul.
